Biography
Gustavo Biaggi Pumarol is a senior partner and founder of the firm that, under his leadership, has maintained a leading position in the Dominican legal market, appearing in the top tier of the most prestigious international directories.
He is recognized for his strategic vision combined with a pragmatic approach, which allows him to conceive simple and viable solutions for complex cases.
His professional practice is intense, both in corporate and litigation matters. His practice areas include arbitration and alternative methods of dispute resolution, litigation and advice in matters of civil, commercial, banking, real estate, tax, inheritance and liberality, tourism and investment, including criminal litigation.
In his long career, he has represented the Dominican State in the recovery of important assets of the public patrimony, as well as groups of investors and savers of financial and banking entities intervened, or of the stock market, in which he has set important precedents. He represents with equal skill, important clients in the area of criminal law.
He is an arbitrator of the Dispute Resolution Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo (CRC), since its inception. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Latin American International Arbitration (LIA), a non-profit institution aimed at creating a space for practitioners of international arbitration and promoting the best arbitration practices in the region.
For decades, he has been a professor at different universities in the country in commercial and corporate matters.
He is classified as a lawyer equally versed in corporate and litigation matters, by the prestigious Chambers Global Latin America and also by the Legal Directory 500.
